Birth Injury: Shoulder Dystocia with Brachial Plexus Stretching (Uterus Removed) - Medical Animation
This 3D medical animation of shoulder dystocia in a newborn shows a vaginal delivery with the uterus removed for greater visibility of the brachial plexus in the neck and shoulder area of the fetus. As the baby is pushed through the mother\'s pelvic outlet during labor, we see the infant\'s shoulder being trapped beneath the mother\'s pelvic bone (pubic symphysis) causing the nerves of the brachial plexus to be stretched and injured. This form of brachial plexus injury is called neuropraxia, and may result in symptoms including a limp or paralyzed arm; lack of muscle control in the arm, hand, or wrist; and lack of feeling or sensation in the arm or hand.

What attorneys say about MLA and The Doe Report:
"For us, the defining feature of effective demonstrative evidence is whether, by itself, the piece will tell the story of the case. Medical legal Art provides our firm with illustrations and animations that are clear and persuasive. Their exhibits tell the story in a way that allows the jury to understand a very complex subject, very quickly."

"[I] have come to rely upon the Doe Report and your great staff of illustrators for all my medical malpractice cases. … Please know that I enthusiastically recommend you to all my colleagues.

Frank Rothermel

"Medical illustrations are essential evidence in personal injury litigation and MLA is simply the best I've found at producing high-quality illustrations. Your illustrators are not only first-class artists, but creative and responsive. Your turn around time is as good as it gets. My clients have won over $60 million in jury verdicts and I can't recall a case which did not include one of your exhibits. On behalf of those clients, thanks and keep up the great work!"

"We got a defense verdict yesterday! Your exhibit was extremely helpful in showing the jury how unlikely it is to damage all four of the nerve branches which control the sense of taste."
