Biology: The Cell: 14: Cell Division - Mitosis vs. Meiosis - Medical Animation
MEDICAL ANIMATION TRANSCRIPT: Let's compare two types of cell division, mitosis and meiosis. While mitosis occurs all over the body in somatic cells, meiosis only occurs in the reproductive cells of the gonads in order to form gametes. The original cell in both mitosis and meiosis is diploid. Mitosis consists of one cell division, while meiosis consists of two stages of cell division called meiosis 1 and meiosis 2. Mitosis results in two diploid daughter cells. In contrast, meiosis results in four daughter cells that are haploid gametes. The two daughter cells resulting from mitosis are genetic duplicates of each other and the original cell. But each haploid gamete resulting from meiosis is genetically different from every gamete ever formed. [music]

What attorneys say about MLA and The Doe Report:
"I thought you might want to know that after we sent a copy of your illustration to the defendants, with a copy to the insurance company, they increased their offer by an additional million dollars and the case was settled for $1,900,000.00.

I appreciate your help!"

"The illustrations have consistently been well documented, accurate and timely. Most important though is that the illustrations demonstrate to juries and claims people the persuasive power of visual communication. Our firm has achieved multiple eight figure settlements and verdicts over the past ten years... Medical Legal Art has been there with us on every case."

"For modern audiences, it is absolutely essential to use medical demonstrative evidence to convey the severity and extent of physical injuries to a jury. Your company's high quality illustrations of our client's discectomy surgery, combined with strong expert testimony, allowed the jury to fully appreciate the significance of our client's injuries.

We are very pleased with a verdict exceeding $297,000.00, far in excess of the $20,000.00 initially offered by the defendant. The medical demonstrative evidence provided by Medical Legal Art was an asset we could not have afforded to have been without."
